Telangana has seen yet another round of IPS reshuffle: the state government has issued orders transferring 15 officers. Earlier in the day, Dr Jitender, a 1992 batch IPS officer, was given full additional charge as the state's Director General of Police. Prior to this, the state government had issued an order on June 17 this year transferring 28 IPS officers.
According to the orders issued, G. Sudhir Babu Rachakonda, serving as Inspector General of Police, Multi Zone-2, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police and retired CP Dr. Tarun Joshi as the Director. Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Mahesh Bhagwat, who served as Additional Director General (ADGP) of Railways and Road Safety, will take charge as ADGP (Law and Order), while Swati Lakra (ADGP TGSP Battalions) will take charge as ADGP (Organization and Home Guards).
Presently ADGP (Operations), Greyhounds and Organization for Counter Terrorist Operations (OCTOPUS) Vijay Kumar heads the Personnel Department with additional charge of Welfare & Sports. Sanjay Jain (ADGP L&O) and M. Stephen Ravindra (ADGP Organization & Homeguards) will switch positions, with Jain commanding the TGSP battalions and Ravindra in charge of Greyhounds.
V. Satyanarayana, who previously served as Joint Commissioner of Police at CAR Headquarters, has been appointed as the new IG for Multi Zone-II. Meanwhile, Rakshitha K. Murthy (SP Vanaparthi) will take charge as DCP at CAR headquarters.
D. Udaykumar Reddy (DCP South West Zone) has been appointed as the SP of Medak district and R. Giridhar (DCP East Zone) has been appointed as the SP of Vanaparthi in place of Murthy. B. Bala Swamy, who retired as Medak SP, has been appointed as the new DCP East Zone. Additionally, G. Chandramohan will take charge as South West Zone DCP.
