The Forecast 1 month ago West Bengal

The government of West Bengal has announced the launch of two new welfare schemes for women beginning June 1. Under the ‘Annapoorna Bandhar’ scheme, eligible women will receive monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 directly into their bank accounts.

Officials said the scheme aims to provide financial support to women beneficiaries across the state. The assistance amount will be transferred through direct bank transactions as part of the government’s welfare initiative.

Along with the financial aid programme, the state government will also introduce a free bus travel scheme for women using government-operated buses. Authorities stated that the scheme is intended to improve accessibility and reduce travel expenses for women commuters.

Government sources said preparations are underway to implement both schemes from the announced date. Departments concerned have been instructed to complete the required arrangements before the rollout begins.

The announcement has drawn attention as one of the major welfare initiatives planned by the state government this year. Officials added that further operational guidelines and beneficiary details are expected to be released soon.

The launch of these two schemes is expected to expand welfare support and public transport access for women across West Bengal.
