Central Control Room Set Up to Monitor Tamil Nadu Polls

Janani G 1 week ago Tamil Nadu

Ahead of the statewide elections, Tamil Nadu has set up a centralised monitoring system to oversee polling activities across the state. A special election control room has been established at the Chennai Secretariat to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of voting.

Officials stated that around 75,000 polling booths across Tamil Nadu will be monitored in real time using a network of 1,50,128 CCTV cameras. The live feeds from these cameras will be connected to the central control room, allowing authorities to track activities and respond quickly if required.

The initiative is part of efforts to strengthen election monitoring and maintain order during the polling process. It is also expected to help in preventing irregularities and ensuring that guidelines are followed at all locations.

Authorities have confirmed that trained personnel will operate the system and coordinate with district officials as needed. This step is aimed at ensuring a well-organised and efficient election process across the state.
