Scientists in Russia have successfully revived a microscopic organism that remained frozen for nearly 24,000 years in the Siberian region. The organism, identified as Bdelloid Rotifer, was discovered in ancient permafrost deposits.
According to researchers, the multicellular microbe resumed activity after being thawed under controlled laboratory conditions. Within a short period, it began reproducing through asexual methods, producing several clones. This ability to survive extreme conditions and revive after thousands of years has drawn significant scientific attention.
