India has identified new oil and gas reserves in the Ghadames Basin, located in Libya, marking a significant development in overseas energy exploration.
The discovery was made in Area 95/96 through a joint effort by Oil India and Indian Oil Corporation. Officials confirmed that this is the fifth major oil find in the region.
Initial testing results indicate that the site can produce around 13 million cubic feet of gas per day, along with approximately 327 barrels of condensate. The findings highlight the potential of the basin for further exploration and development.
Authorities stated that the project reflects India’s continued efforts to expand its presence in global energy markets. The discovery also adds to the growing list of hydrocarbon resources identified in the region.
The development marks a notable step in strengthening India’s energy exploration activities abroad.
