Stalin Inaugurates Terminal I at Redeveloped Ukkadam Bus Stand

M. K. Stalin on Friday inaugurated Terminal I of the redeveloped Ukkadam bus stand in Coimbatore through video conference from Chennai.

The redevelopment project of the Ukkadam Bus Stand is being carried out at a total cost of ₹21.55 crore. As part of the first phase of the project, works worth ₹13 crore were completed and officially opened during the event.

Along with the bus terminal, the Chief Minister also inaugurated two Mudhalvar Padaippagam centres set up in the north and west zones of the city. These facilities are designed to provide improved public services and community spaces for residents.

Officials said the redevelopment of the bus stand aims to enhance transport infrastructure and improve passenger convenience in the city. The project is expected to support smoother bus operations and better facilities for daily commuters.

The inauguration marks an important step in strengthening urban infrastructure and public transport services in Coimbatore.
