Coimbatore MSMEs Seek Urgent Support Amid War-Driven Price Rise

The Forecast 3 months ago Coimbatore

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Coimbatore have sought immediate government support as rising prices linked to the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran begin to affect industrial operations.

Industrial units in the engineering and manufacturing sectors say the war has triggered a sharp increase in fuel and input costs, creating pressure on small businesses. Entrepreneurs in the region said commercial LPG cylinders, which are widely used in industries, have become difficult to manage due to rising prices and supply concerns.

Commercial cylinders are used not only in hotels and restaurants but also in industrial canteens and several production processes. Fabrication and steel units rely on gas cylinders for cutting operations, while powder-coating units and textile processing industries also depend on them for daily work.

Industry representatives said the situation is affecting production costs and operational stability. They have urged authorities to introduce supportive measures to help MSMEs continue their operations without major disruptions.
