The Forecast 3 months ago Coimbatore

The first randomisation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026 was carried out in Coimbatore district on Monday.

A total of 13,172 units were allocated across 10 Assembly constituencies as part of the initial phase of election preparations. The process ensures a fair and transparent distribution of voting machines to different constituencies.

The machines were dispatched from the district warehouse located at the Coimbatore South Taluk office. From there, they were distributed to constituency-level warehouses for further use during the election process.

Officials supervised the randomisation procedure to maintain accuracy and prevent any bias in allocation. The use of EVMs along with VVPAT units is aimed at ensuring transparency and reliability in voting.

The completion of this first stage marks an important step in election readiness in the district.

Further preparations are expected to continue smoothly to ensure a well-organised and efficient electoral process.
