Bharathiar University in Coimbatore is set to begin the process of recruiting guest faculty for the 2026–27 academic session within the next week.
The move comes in response to requests from various departments to complete the recruitment process well before the start of the academic year. University officials have asked department heads to submit detailed reports on their workload requirements to ensure timely appointments.
As part of the process, departments have been instructed to calculate teaching workload based on standard norms. Professors are expected to handle 12 hours of classroom teaching per week, while associate professors will take on 14 hours, and assistant professors 16 hours.
These details will help the university assess the number of guest faculty needed across departments. The early initiation of the recruitment process is aimed at avoiding delays and ensuring that academic activities begin smoothly.
By planning ahead, the university is working to maintain continuity in teaching and provide a structured learning environment for students in the upcoming academic year.
