The Food Quality Testing Laboratory of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has received renewal of its accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories, extending its validity until November 2029.
The laboratory operates under the Centre for Post-Harvest Technology at TNAU and plays a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of food and agricultural products. Officials confirmed that the renewed accreditation allows the facility to continue conducting both chemical and biological testing as per established standards.
The lab is equipped to test a wide range of products, including cereals, pulses, millets, edible oils, bakery items, honey, spices, instant mixes, and ready-to-eat foods. It also handles various processed food products, supporting quality checks across the food supply chain.
The renewal highlights the lab’s compliance with national standards and its continued role in quality assurance.
This development is expected to support consistent testing practices and strengthen food safety monitoring in the region.
