Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India's first greenfield refinery and petrochemical complex at Pachpadra in Rajasthan, marking a major milestone in the country's energy and industrial infrastructure. The project has been developed at an investment of ₹79,450 crore.
The refinery and petrochemical complex has been established through a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Government of Rajasthan. The project is expected to strengthen India's refining capacity and support the country's growing demand for petroleum products.
According to official information, the refinery has the capacity to process 9 million metric tonnes of crude oil every year. The integrated facility will produce a range of petroleum products and petrochemicals, contributing to industrial development and improving the domestic supply chain.
The inauguration marks the completion of one of India's largest energy infrastructure projects. The refinery is expected to play an important role in supporting economic growth by strengthening the country's refining network and enhancing production capacity.
The new facility also reflects continued investment in the energy sector through collaboration between the central public sector and the state government. With commercial operations set to move forward, the refinery is expected to become an important addition to India's expanding industrial and energy landscape.
