PM cracking jokes when Manipur is burning, says Rahul

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants Manipur to burn, which is why he isn't utilising the tools at his disposal to quell the violence, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed on Friday.

Mr. Gandhi stated that it is not the Prime Minister's responsibility to laugh and crack jokes in Parliament when Manipur has been burning for the past four months.

Women and children are dying there, people are being slaughtered, women are being groped and raped, and the Prime Minister of India is openly smiling in the middle of Parliament. "This is not about Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party, or the opposition parties; it is about India," he remarked.

The Congress leader made these remarks during a press conference at the headquarters of the All India Congress Committee, a day after Mr. Modi responded to the no-confidence motion against his government, which was defeated by a voice vote.

Mr. Gandhi reaffirmed his position in Parliament that the Indian Army can bring peace, but the Modi government is not efficiently employing it.
