The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating dense to very dense fog conditions over parts of northwest India during the next five days. These conditions are expected during the night and morning hours, potentially impacting visibility and travel plans.

According to the IMD, dense fog will prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh until tomorrow, while Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh will experience similar conditions until Saturday. In Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region, moderate to dense fog is anticipated.

In southern India, the weather agency has predicted heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal today, with light to moderate showers likely in Kerala, Mahe, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Meanwhile, a gradual dip in minimum temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius is expected in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and central parts of India over the next 4-5 days, signaling the onset of cooler conditions.

Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather alerts and take necessary precautions, particularly in regions experiencing dense fog or heavy rainfall.
