Apple has announced that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held online from June 8 to 12, featuring updates across its platforms.

The event will highlight new software, developer tools, and advancements in artificial intelligence. Developers and students will also have the opportunity to attend the opening day in person at Apple Park.

At last year’s conference, Apple focused on gradual improvements such as live translation features for phone calls, aimed at enhancing everyday user experience. This year, attention is expected to be on further platform enhancements.

In a separate development, reports indicate that Apple may introduce advertising in its Maps application as part of efforts to expand its services business. The feature could allow brands to place ads linked to search results, similar to existing models in other map services.

Apple’s services segment, which includes Apple Music and iCloud, recently recorded revenue of $30.01 billion in the first quarter.

The upcoming conference is expected to outline Apple’s next steps in technology and services growth.
