The Forecast 1 week ago Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University has announced that it will discontinue its integrated four-year B.Sc, B.Ed and B.A, B.Ed programmes from the 2026–27 academic year.

These courses, which combine undergraduate studies with teacher training, have been offered by the university to prepare students for teaching careers through a single, integrated programme. However, the university has now decided to stop offering these programmes from the upcoming academic session.

In an official statement, TNTEU clarified that affiliated colleges should not admit students into these courses from the 2026–27 academic year onward. The university also stated that it will not take any responsibility if institutions continue admissions despite the directive.

The announcement is expected to impact students planning to pursue integrated teacher education courses in Tamil Nadu. Colleges have been advised to follow the guidelines strictly to avoid any issues in the future.

The decision marks a significant change in teacher education offerings, with the university focusing on compliance and clarity for the upcoming academic year.
