The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for 12 districts in Tamil Nadu, even as the State continues to experience intense summer heat.
According to the forecast, rainfall is likely to occur until April 15 in several parts of the State. Districts expected to receive rain include Kanyakumari, Dindigul, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Theni, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Madurai, Vellore, Ranipet, and Tirupathur.
The weather department said that local weather conditions are favourable for scattered rainfall, which may bring temporary relief from high temperatures. However, the heat is expected to continue in many areas alongside the rain.
Authorities have advised residents to stay prepared for sudden weather changes, especially while travelling. Rainfall in these districts may vary in intensity, and people are urged to take necessary precautions.
The update highlights the mixed weather pattern across Tamil Nadu, where both heat and rain are being experienced. Further updates from the weather department are expected in the coming days.
