In a remarkable display of courage and endurance, seven-year-old Ishank Singh from Ranchi, Jharkhand, has become the youngest swimmer to cross the Palk Strait. The Class 3 student completed the challenging 29-kilometre stretch from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu in an impressive 9 hours and 50 minutes. The feat, part of his initiative titled “Mission Samandar,” was officially recognised by the Universal Records Forum. Beginning early in the morning, Ishank faced strong ocean currents and rough sea conditions throughout the journey. Despite the demanding environment, he maintained steady determination and successfully reached the Indian coast. His achievement stands as an inspiring example of dedication, discipline, and youthful resilience, bringing pride to Jharkhand and the nation.
