Cricket to Return at LA 2028 Olympics After Over a Century

The Forecast 11 months ago Sports

Cricket is set to make a historic comeback at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics after a gap of more than 120 years. The organising committee announced that the fast-paced T20 format will feature both men's and women’s tournaments, with six teams competing in each category.

The matches will be held at a temporary, purpose-built venue located at the Fairgrounds in Pomona, a city around 50 kilometres from Los Angeles in Southern California. This initiative marks a significant moment for the sport on the global stage, aiming to expand cricket’s reach and popularity.

Cricket last featured in the Olympics at the Paris Games in 1900, making its inclusion in LA 2028 a landmark decision for fans and players alike. The Los Angeles Olympic Games will take place from July 14 to 30, 2028.
