Tamil Nadu will continue its doorstep ration delivery scheme for senior citizens and differently-abled people, according to Food Minister Venkataramanan. The minister confirmed that the welfare initiative will remain active to ensure essential ration supplies reach beneficiaries without difficulty.
The scheme was introduced to support people who face challenges in visiting ration shops due to age, physical conditions, or mobility-related issues. Under the program, essential food items distributed through the public distribution system are delivered directly to eligible beneficiaries at their homes.
Officials stated that the government is committed to strengthening welfare measures aimed at improving accessibility and public support services across the state. The Food Minister also assured that the required financial arrangements would be provided to maintain the smooth implementation of the scheme.
The doorstep ration delivery program has been considered an important support system for vulnerable sections of society, especially senior citizens and differently-abled individuals who depend on regular access to essential supplies.
Authorities said the continuation of the initiative reflects the government’s focus on welfare-oriented public services and inclusive social support programs. The scheme is expected to continue benefiting thousands of eligible families across Tamil Nadu in the coming months.
