Tamil Nadu to Revamp Women’s Rights Assistance Scheme

CM Joseph Vijay announced that the Kalaignar Women’s Rights Assistance Scheme will undergo restructuring as part of the state government’s review process. He stated that additional time is required to complete the reorganisation of the welfare programme.

Speaking about the scheme, the Chief Minister said the financial assistance amount scheduled for May will not be credited tomorrow due to the ongoing restructuring work. Officials explained that administrative and operational changes are currently being carried out to improve the implementation process of the scheme.

The Kalaignar Women’s Rights Assistance Scheme was introduced to provide monthly financial support to eligible women across Tamil Nadu. Government departments are now reviewing the functioning of the programme and examining possible changes related to beneficiary management and distribution procedures.

Authorities stated that further details regarding the revised structure and payment schedule are expected to be announced after the review process is completed. Officials also said the government is working to ensure the smooth continuation of the welfare programme after the restructuring phase.
