The Election Commission of India has announced that Special Intensive Revision work for electoral rolls will be carried out in 16 additional states and three Union Territories from July. The large-scale voter list revision process will include states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.

According to officials, nearly 3.94 lakh Booth Level Officers will participate in the revision exercise across the identified regions. The programme is aimed at updating voter records, correcting details, and ensuring the accuracy of electoral rolls ahead of future elections.

The Election Commission stated that the Special Intensive Revision process will involve field verification, updating voter information, and adding eligible new voters to the electoral database. Authorities said the exercise is part of regular efforts to maintain transparent and accurate electoral records across the country.

Officials also noted that awareness activities and verification campaigns will be conducted during the revision period to encourage public participation. Booth Level Officers will coordinate directly with local residents to verify and update voter details wherever required.

The voter revision drive is considered an important administrative exercise in the election process. The Election Commission said the initiative will help strengthen the accuracy and reliability of electoral rolls in the participating states and Union Territories.
