The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) alliance has crossed the majority mark in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, according to the latest seat figures released after the election results. The alliance secured a combined strength of 120 seats in the 234-member Assembly, comfortably moving past the required majority mark of 118 seats.
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerged as the single largest party in the alliance with 107 seats. The Congress party secured 5 seats, while CPI and CPM together won 4 seats. VCK and I.U.M.L won 2 seats each, adding to the alliance tally.
The election outcome marks a significant political development in Tamil Nadu, with the TVK-led front preparing for the next phase of government formation. Political leaders and party workers celebrated the results in several parts of the state following the announcement.
