Tamil Nadu has issued orders granting temporary approval for the establishment of 8,000 new private hospitals across the state. The move is aimed at improving healthcare access and speeding up the process for launching new medical facilities.
Health Minister Arunraj said applicants can obtain temporary certificates immediately by submitting the required information through the online registration system. He explained that permanent approvals will be issued after detailed inspections and verification procedures are completed by the concerned authorities.
Officials stated that the simplified approval process is expected to reduce administrative delays and encourage the expansion of healthcare infrastructure in both urban and rural regions. The government believes the initiative will help improve medical services and increase healthcare availability for the public.
The Health Department has also instructed officials to ensure that all hospitals follow safety standards and operational guidelines before receiving final certification. Authorities said inspections would focus on infrastructure, medical equipment, staffing, and patient care facilities.
The latest decision reflects the state government’s efforts to strengthen the healthcare sector and make medical services more accessible across Tamil Nadu. The initiative is expected to support faster development of healthcare facilities while maintaining proper regulatory oversight.
