India has intensified health surveillance measures to prevent the spread of Ebola following the rise in cases reported across several African countries. The Union government has decided to isolate and closely monitor international travellers arriving with symptoms such as fever, cough, cold, and body fatigue for a period of 21 days.
Health authorities said the precautionary step has been introduced to reduce the risk of possible transmission within the country. Screening and monitoring procedures have been strengthened at airports, ports, and other international entry points across India.
Officials stated that travellers showing symptoms linked to infectious diseases will undergo medical observation and necessary health checks. Emergency response teams and public health departments have also been instructed to remain alert and coordinate closely with hospitals and quarantine facilities.
The World Health Organization and global health agencies continue monitoring the Ebola outbreak in affected regions. Indian authorities said preventive measures are being reviewed regularly based on the latest international health updates.
Ebola is a serious viral disease that spreads through direct contact with infected bodily fluids. Previous outbreaks in Africa have led to major public health emergencies and strict containment efforts worldwide.
The latest preventive measures highlight India’s continued focus on public health preparedness and early action to reduce the risk of infectious disease outbreaks.
