Supreme Court Introduces Hybrid Work System

The Forecast 1 day ago National News

Supreme Court of India has announced a new hybrid work arrangement aimed at reducing fuel consumption and supporting energy conservation efforts. Under the revised system, court proceedings on Mondays and Fridays will be conducted only through video conferencing.

According to the announcement, lawyers and litigants will attend hearings virtually on the specified days instead of appearing physically in court. The decision is expected to reduce daily travel and lower fuel usage associated with court operations in the national capital.

The Supreme Court has also directed that 50 percent of its staff members work from home on a rotational basis. Officials stated that the arrangement has been introduced to ensure smooth functioning of the court while also encouraging efficient use of resources.

The new measures come at a time when several government institutions are promoting fuel-saving initiatives and flexible working systems. Court authorities said necessary technical arrangements and administrative support will be provided to ensure uninterrupted virtual proceedings and staff coordination.

Legal experts and court officials are closely monitoring the implementation of the hybrid system. The initiative is expected to support digital functioning while helping reduce operational pressure and fuel consumption in the long term.
