Janani G 1 day ago National News

The National Testing Agency has cancelled the NEET examination conducted across the country on May 3 following allegations of question paper leaks in Rajasthan. The decision comes after widespread criticism and concerns over examination security and fairness.

Officials said this is the first time the NEET examination has been cancelled after it was conducted nationwide. The issue reportedly surfaced after claims of malpractice and question paper leaks emerged from Rajasthan, leading to strong reactions from students, parents, and education groups across India.

According to the National Testing Agency, nearly 23 lakh students who appeared for the examination have been affected by the cancellation. The agency clarified that candidates will not be required to pay any additional fee for the re-examination. It also confirmed that existing registration numbers and application details will remain valid for the fresh test.

Authorities stated that a new date for the re-examination will be announced later after necessary arrangements and security measures are finalised.

The cancellation has become a major development in the country’s education sector, with students now waiting for further announcements regarding the revised examination schedule.
