Maruti Suzuki to Launch India’s First Ethanol Flex-Fuel Car

The Forecast 1 day ago Automobile

Maruti Suzuki is set to introduce India’s first flex-fuel car capable of running entirely on 100 percent ethanol, marking a major step toward cleaner and alternative fuel technology in the country. The vehicle is expected to be officially launched in New Delhi on June 5 during the World Environment Day celebrations.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the upcoming launch and highlighted the importance of adopting environmentally friendly fuel solutions to reduce pollution and dependence on traditional fossil fuels. The flex-fuel vehicle is designed to operate using ethanol-based fuel, which is considered a cleaner alternative compared to petrol and diesel.

The move is part of the government’s broader efforts to encourage green mobility and promote sustainable transportation across India. Ethanol fuel is mainly produced from agricultural products such as sugarcane and maize, making it a renewable energy source.

Automobile experts believe the launch could encourage more manufacturers to invest in alternative fuel vehicles in the coming years. The introduction of the new flex-fuel car also reflects the growing focus on environmentally responsible technologies in India’s automobile sector.

The launch is expected to strengthen the country’s push toward cleaner transportation and support long-term environmental goals.
