Fuel prices have increased once again across the country, adding to the financial burden on vehicle owners and daily commuters. In Chennai, petrol and diesel prices recorded another hike, while CNG rates also saw a sharp increase.
According to the latest fuel price revision, petrol prices in Chennai have increased by 24 paise per litre and are now being sold at ₹108.01 per litre. Diesel prices have also gone up by 23 paise, taking the price to ₹99.78 per litre. This marks another increase in fuel prices amid continuing fluctuations in the energy market.
At the same time, the price of CNG has also been revised upward in Chennai. A kilogram of CNG, which was earlier sold at ₹91.50, has now increased by ₹3.50 and is being sold at ₹95 per kilogram. The latest rise is expected to affect private vehicle users, commercial transport operators, and auto drivers who depend on CNG for daily operations.
Frequent increases in fuel and gas prices often influence transportation expenses and may indirectly affect the prices of essential goods and services. Consumers are closely watching further revisions in the coming days.
