Sweden has officially joined Indian Space Research Organisation’s Shukrayaan-1 mission, marking a new step in space cooperation between the two countries. The agreement focuses on scientific research related to Venus and its atmospheric conditions.
Under the partnership, Sweden will provide technical instruments and scientific expertise for the mission. The project aims to study Venus’ atmosphere, surface, and the interaction between the planet and solar winds. Scientists believe the mission will help improve understanding of climate conditions and planetary changes in the solar system.
Shukrayaan-1 is ISRO’s planned mission to Venus and is expected to become one of India’s major space research projects in the coming years. Officials said preparations for the mission are progressing as scheduled, with the spacecraft planned for launch in March 2028.
The collaboration also highlights the growing international interest in deep space exploration and scientific partnerships. India and Sweden have continued to strengthen cooperation in technology and research sectors through several joint initiatives.
The latest agreement is expected to support advanced space research and strengthen international collaboration in planetary exploration programs.
