Karuppaiah was sworn in as the Protem Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly during a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan. The oath was administered by Governor Vishwanath Arlekar in the presence of senior officials and political leaders.
Karuppaiah, who represents the Sholavandan Assembly constituency, will serve as the Protem Speaker until the election of the permanent Speaker of the Assembly. The Protem Speaker is responsible for administering the oath to newly elected members and overseeing the initial proceedings of the Assembly.
The ceremony took place at Lok Bhavan with participation from government representatives, legislators, and administrative officials. Preparations for the upcoming Assembly session are also underway following the appointment.
