India has introduced a new lung cancer treatment drug called Tecentriq, offering patients a much faster treatment process. The medicine can reportedly be administered in just seven minutes, significantly reducing the time required for treatment sessions compared to traditional procedures.
Medical officials said the new drug has been introduced for patients undergoing treatment for lung cancer and may help improve treatment convenience in hospitals and cancer care centers. The faster administration process is expected to reduce waiting time for patients and support smoother medical care management.
According to available information, one dose of Tecentriq costs around ₹3.7 lakh. Doctors stated that several patients may require up to six doses depending on their medical condition, stage of treatment, and response to therapy. The total treatment cost may therefore vary from patient to patient.
Healthcare experts noted that advancements in cancer treatment technologies continue to improve patient care and treatment efficiency. Hospitals are expected to evaluate the use of the drug based on individual patient requirements and medical guidance.
The introduction of the new treatment marks another important step in expanding modern cancer care options for patients in India.
