The government has approved Productivity Linked Bonus of over one thousand 968 crore rupees to more than 11 lakh railway employees. Briefing reporters after the Union Cabinet meeting in New Delhi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said that the government approved the bonus equivalent to 78 days’ wages for the financial year 2022-23 to all eligible non-gazetted Railway employees including Track maintainer, Loco Pilots, Train Managers (Guards), Station Masters, Supervisors, Technicians and Technician Helpers.
Payment of Productivity Linked Bonus will act as an incentive to motivate the Railway employees for working towards further improvement in performance. The performance of Railways in 2022-2023 was very good. Railways loaded a record cargo of one thousand 509 Million Tonnes and carried nearly 6.5 Billion Passengers in the last financial year.
