Strong Winds Expected in the State Till May 06: The Public Should Be Aware.

The Forecast 4 years ago General

The Central Meteorological Department has expected severe winds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour throughout the state till May 6. In this occasion, the Disaster Management Authority released public guidelines.

  • Do not stand under trees for any purpose during wind and rain since trees can fall and twigs can break in high gusts. Vehicles should not be parked in trees.
  • Dangerous tree twigs in the backyard should be removed. Notify the appropriate local authorities if any harmful trees are discovered in public locations.
  • Unsecured billboards, electric posts, flagpoles, and other structures should be adequately strengthened or loosened when there is no wind or rain to avoid falling trees. Do not park or stand under or near any bridges during rain and wind.
  • Tools and other things that may fall in the wind should be tied up, and windows and doors in homes should be closed as soon as the wind begins to blow. Avoid standing near windows and doors. Also, avoid standing on the house's rooftop.
  • People who live in decrepit, sheet-lined, or unsealed homes should alert authorities or dial 1077. As soon as you receive the notice, relocate to a safer building.
  • Power wires and poles are more prone to break in high winds and heavy rains. In the event of such an occurrence, contact the KSEB Control Room at 1912 or the District Disaster Management Authority Control Room at 1077 right away. Do not perform such repairs in public.
  • Paper-Milk distributors and those who go to work early in the morning should be especially careful. Ensure that the power line does not break in the dams or other areas of the road. If any danger is suspected, it should be reported to the control room.
  • Make sure that the power lines passing through the fields are safe before entering the field.
  • Those engaged in construction work should stop work and move to a safer place when the wind and rain are strong.
