China Reiterates Claim Over Arunachal Pradesh

The Forecast 6 days ago World News

China has once again asserted its claim over Arunachal Pradesh, stating that the region belongs to its territory, amid renewed tensions between the two countries.

The statement came after India strongly objected to China assigning new names to several villages in Arunachal Pradesh. Responding to India’s protest, a spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Arunachal Pradesh is part of China and alleged that it was “illegally occupied” by India.

China continues to refer to Arunachal Pradesh as “Zangnan” or South Tibet and maintains its longstanding claim over the region. India, however, has consistently rejected these claims, asserting that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of the country.

The issue remains a sensitive point in India-China relations, with both sides holding firm to their positions. Diplomatic exchanges on the matter have taken place in the past, but the disagreement continues.

The latest developments highlight ongoing tensions, while both nations are expected to address the issue through diplomatic channels.
