The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has clarified that there is no plan to increase petrol and diesel prices, dismissing recent reports suggesting a sharp hike after the Assembly elections.
In an official statement, the Ministry said that claims about a proposed increase of ₹25–28 per litre are not true. It stated that no such proposal is currently under consideration by the government. The clarification was issued to address concerns raised by circulating reports.
The Ministry also described such reports as misleading and intended to create unnecessary fear among the public. Officials emphasized that fuel pricing decisions are taken based on established processes and not influenced by unverified claims.
