CM Seeks NEET Alternative at NITI Aayog Meeting

The Chief Minister has urged the Union Government to consider medical admissions based on Class 12 marks instead of the NEET examination, raising the issue during the NITI Aayog meeting held in New Delhi. The request was made as part of a broader discussion on education, student welfare, and access to higher studies.


Speaking at the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of creating opportunities for students through a fair and accessible admission process. He emphasized that admissions based on higher secondary examination marks should be allowed and called for a review of the existing system.


In addition to the request regarding medical admissions, the Chief Minister also urged the Union Government to release ₹3,284 crore in education-related funds without imposing any conditions. He stated that timely allocation of these funds would help strengthen educational infrastructure, support students, and improve learning opportunities across the state.


The issue was presented as part of the state’s efforts to improve access to quality education and ensure that students receive adequate support in pursuing their academic goals. The discussion highlighted the importance of education in long-term social and economic development.


The requests made at the meeting reflect the continued focus on strengthening education and creating better opportunities for future generations.
