Railway construction work is underway at Tubul in the Neipur district of the northeastern state of Manipur. A heavy landslide occurred in the area last Wednesday night. At that time, the workers who were engaged in the construction work and the soldiers who were hired for their protection were trapped in the landslide. Rescuers, including army personnel, rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations. In this case, yesterday was the 3rd day of rescue work. So far, 34 bodies have been recovered. 14 of them are soldiers. The army said that the search for the missing 28 people is still going on.
