Afghanistan's Nangarhar and Nuristan provinces have experienced continuous heavy rains for the past two days. Due to this, severe flooding occurred in both provinces. Over 100 houses were inundated as residential areas were flooded. Roads and flyovers were washed away. More than 500 families have been affected by heavy rains and floods. Heavy rains and floods were followed by catastrophic landslides in many places. Many houses were buried under the soil. Officials said that 39 people, including 9 children, were killed and 14 people were seriously injured due to heavy rain. Officials also said that more than 500 cattle died in the flood.
