Voting for the election to elect the next President of India was held across the country today. In the elections, Dravupati Murmu contested on behalf of the BJP alliance and Yashwant Sinha on behalf of the opposition parties. This election was held till 5 pm. Those affected by the corona infection were given time to vote from 4-5 pm. MPs and MLAs across the country registered their votes. The Election Officer has informed us that 99.18 percent of votes have been registered in this election. Around 4,800 MPs and MLAs elected across the country voted by secret ballot. The Election Commission of India said that voting for the presidential election was peaceful. 99 per cent of the total of 4796 voters on the Electoral Roll for the Presidential Election have cast their votes. All the MLAs from the states of Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Puducherry, Sikkim, Chandigarh, and Tamil Nadu ( Election Commission said that 100 percent) voted. Subsequently, the counting of votes will be held on July 21 in the Parliament premises. The next president will be sworn in on July 25.
