The auction of 5G spectrum for providing high-speed Internet connection in India started yesterday. Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio, Mittal's Bharti Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, and Adani Group have participated in the auction. On the first day, the above companies bid for Rs.1.45 lakh crore. In particular, there was intense competition for the auction of 3300 MHz and 26 GHz spectrum. Following this, the 2nd day of auction was held yesterday. In this also 4 companies competed and bid. As a result, the central government has informed that bids of Rs.1.49 lakh crore have been requested. Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, 'It is good to see good competition in the 5G spectrum auction. There is great competition in all frequencies. At the end of the 9th round, bids worth Rs.1,49,454 crore have been received so far,' he said. Following this, the 5G spectrum auction is being held today for the 3rd day. Experts said that Ambani's Reliance Jio was more aggressive than the other three companies in the auction.
