The world's first hydrogen-powered passenger train went into operation in Germany last month. It is an environmentally friendly alternative fuel. At the same time, the hydrogen train is better than other trains in various aspects including speed and stability.
Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnav has said that in India too, work is being done to manufacture hydrogen rail completely domestically. Speaking at a program held in Odisha's Bhubaneswar, he said that this train preparation work was done by the ICF in Chennai. He informed that it is going on in the factory.
He informed that this train is one of the top 5 trains in the world and said that next year 2023, hydrogen train will be operational in India on 15th August.
