Kabul,

Afghanistan is in a severe economic crisis under the Taliban-led regime. Due to this, the people of that country are facing various problems including food shortage and livelihood.

While international countries do not recognize the Taliban government, only humanitarian aid is being provided to the people of the country. In that way, the Indian government is sending medical supplies and wheat to the Afghan people on a humanitarian basis.

Since December last year, 12 phases of medicines have been sent to Afghanistan. In this case, India has sent the 13th phase of medical aid to Afghanistan, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

India today provided new medical supplies to Afghanistan as part of its humanitarian assistance, the External Affairs Ministry said. The items were handed over to the Indira Gandhi Hospital in Kabul.

India has so far provided 45 tonnes of medical aid to Afghanistan in 13 phases. It includes many medicines like essential life saving medicines, anti-tuberculosis medicines, 5,00,000 doses of corona vaccines. Also, India has ensured food security by sending 40,000 tons of wheat to Afghanistan.
