An order of Tirunelveli City Police Commissioner C.Maheshwari, I.P.S., and as directed by Tirunelveli Deputy Commissioners of Police Adarsh pachera,I.P.S (East), K. Saravanakumar,I.P.S (West), G.S. Anitha I.P.S., Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Tirunelveli, Traffic Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kameswaran, Inspector of Police Petchimuthu, and the police created awareness among the motorists and public about the rules to be followed while driving and distributed leaflets. They are as follows:
1) The driver should drive the vehicle only after obtaining the license.
2) When traveling on a two-wheeler, both the driver and the passenger in the rear seat must wear a helmet.
3) Only two people should travel in a two-wheeler.
4) Bicyclists should ride on the left side of the road and should not overtake vehicles on the left side.
5) Do not drive while talking on a cell phone.
6) Do not drive under the influence of alcohol.
7) The vehicle registration number should be written in the correct size as per the government order.
8) Do not use flashing lights in the vehicle.
9) Do not use loud speakers.
10) Do not adventure in vehicles on the roads.
They gave such advice and created awareness.
