Consumers in Chennai are facing another increase in cooking gas prices as the cost of domestic LPG cylinders continues to climb. The price of a 14.2-kilogram domestic LPG cylinder has been raised by ₹29, taking the retail price to ₹957.50.
The latest revision adds to a series of recent increases that have affected household budgets. Over the past three months alone, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder has gone up by a total of ₹89. The repeated hikes have drawn attention from consumers who depend on LPG for their daily cooking needs.
Commercial users have also been impacted by the latest price revision. The cost of a 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder was increased by ₹46 on June 1, pushing its price to ₹3,283. Businesses such as restaurants, hotels, and small food establishments are expected to feel the impact of the higher operating costs.
LPG prices are revised periodically based on various market factors, including international fuel trends and supply conditions. The latest increase reflects the continued movement in energy-related costs.
As fuel prices remain an important concern for households and businesses alike, consumers will be closely watching future revisions in the coming months.
