Ground Attack on Iran Would Be ‘Insanity’, Says Trita Parsi

The Forecast 5 days ago World News

A month after the United States and Israel launched military action against Iran, there are no easy exit options for Washington, according to Trita Parsi.

In an interview,  Parsi said the U.S. is not clearly winning the war and warned that any ground offensive in Iran would be “complete insanity.” He explained that such a move would make it harder for President Donald Trump to declare victory and withdraw from the conflict.

Parsi also noted that the U.S. and Israel appear to have different goals in the war, which adds to the complexity of the situation. He said Iran is likely capable of sustaining the conflict for six months to a year, possibly longer than initially expected.

Highlighting the economic impact, he stressed the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz to stabilize global oil markets. According to him, this would require offering Iran meaningful and lasting sanctions relief.

The remarks underline the challenges facing all sides as the conflict continues, with diplomatic solutions seen as key to reducing tensions and restoring stability.
