Fire Reported at Russian Baltic Port After Ukrainian Drone Strike

The Forecast 3 days ago World News

A Ukrainian drone strike triggered a fire at Russia’s major Baltic port of Ust-Luga, marking the second attack on the facility in recent days.

Regional governor Alexander Drozdenko said there was damage to the port but confirmed that no casualties were reported. Emergency teams were working to control the fire at the key export hub, which handles fertilisers, oil, and coal.

Ukraine claimed responsibility for the strike, stating that it targeted the oil terminal as part of its efforts to weaken Russia’s financial and logistical capacity. Ukraine’s security service said such operations are aimed at reducing revenues that support Russia’s military actions.

Officials added that 36 drones were destroyed overnight in the region. The port had also been hit earlier in the week in a similar attack.

Separately, a drone strike in Russia’s Belgorod region killed one civilian, according to local authorities. The area has seen repeated attacks in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Ukraine reported that Russia launched 442 drones and one missile overnight, with most intercepted.

The ongoing exchanges highlight the continued intensity of the conflict and its impact on key infrastructure.
