Indian Army successfully carried out a test of the Agni-1 missile at the Chandipur test range in Odisha, confirming the missile’s operational preparedness and technical reliability. Defence officials said the test was conducted as part of routine evaluations of India’s strategic defence systems.
The Agni-1 missile is a short-range ballistic missile developed for precision strike capability. According to defence authorities, the missile can hit targets located between 700 and 1,200 kilometres away. It is also capable of carrying nuclear warheads, making it an important part of India’s strategic deterrence programme.
Officials stated that all mission objectives were successfully achieved during the test. The launch and performance of the missile were closely monitored by defence and technical teams at the testing facility.
