The Forecast 1 hour ago National News
Indian Space Research Organisation is planning to establish new space engineering hubs in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu as part of efforts to increase private sector participation in India’s growing space industry. The proposed facilities are expected to strengthen manufacturing capabilities and support future space missions.
Officials said a new rocket systems manufacturing centre will be developed near the upcoming launch site at Kulasekarapattinam in Tamil Nadu. The facility is expected to support the production and assembly of rocket-related systems and equipment for future launch operations.
At the same time, Gujarat will host a separate centre focused on the manufacturing of satellites and payload systems. The proposed hub aims to support both government and private space projects by expanding production capacity and encouraging industrial partnerships in the space sector.
The move comes as India continues to open its space industry to private companies and startups. Officials believe the new engineering centres will help create employment opportunities, strengthen technology development, and improve infrastructure for future missions.
The planned projects reflect India’s continued focus on expanding its space capabilities and encouraging greater collaboration between government agencies and private industry in advanced technology sectors.
