The Forecast 1 year ago Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the officials to hand over the responsibility of removing unauthorized hoardings and flex boards to Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA).

The agency should be empowered to collect fines from persons violating the guidelines under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). GHMC's Enforcement, Vigilance and Disaster Management (EV&DM) department has been renamed as HYDRA with effect from July 1.

The Chief Minister made these suggestions in a meeting with Hydra officials at the State Secretariat. Unauthorized hoardings, flex boards, encroachment of canals and water bodies were discussed in the meeting. Effective coordination between line departments and other issues were also discussed.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to study to strengthen the rules so that canals, water bodies and government lands are not encroached upon. Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Corporation, Water Board, Municipal Administration Department and other departments should hold meetings and work efficiently.

The Chief Minister said that he wants to develop HYDRA into a strong system and if necessary, the government will consider making special allocations for the agency. He directed the concerned authorities to formulate guidelines in this direction before the commencement of the budget sessions of the Legislative Assembly.

He suggested that HYDRA should be entrusted with the management of the 2,000 sq km area up to the Outer Ring Road. Actions should be taken to ensure that the police station area and assembly constituencies in the division come under the same zone.
