Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the 'Mother of Telangana' statue in the premises of the Telangana State Secretariat.
He said that the 'Mother of Telangana' statue will be unveiled on December 9 this year. In 2009, the then Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram announced the beginning of the Telangana state formation process on December 9, which is also the birthday of Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, who realized the decades-old demand for a Telangana state. , he added.
"So December 9 is like a festival for the people of Telangana." With the participation of thousands of people, the idol unveiling program will be held with grandeur. Talking about the previous BRS regime, the CM said that those who were in power for ten years claimed to have built many important buildings or structures but ignored the 'mother of Telangana'.
Stating that the statue of 'Mother of Telangana' should reflect pride and stand as an inspiration, the Chief Minister said that the responsibility of designing the statue has been entrusted to the Principal of Fine Arts College of the state.
